Bhanumathi rendered this song ‘manasuna mallela’, and we find Bhanumathi and N.T.Rama Rao performing for it on screen.  Devulapalli has captured in heart and soul the spirit of deep painful romantic emotions in every word of this song. The base raaga for this soulful song is ‘yaman kalyaani’, and a special feature of this song is that its ‘pallavi’ is not repeated. As a matter fact, we cannot classify this song as a song in the first place—it does not have a ‘pallavi’ and there is no division of ‘charanas’ of the entire song—it moves ahead with the power of the notes of its raaga! People may have several opinions on the singing prowess of Bhanumathi, but her rendering of this song is unique. As far as this song is concerned all agree on one thing! If you listen to this song while going to bed, you do not know when you slip into sleep and become unaware of your surroundings.  It is such a sweet melody that can induce feelings of elusive sensitivity and an inexplicable joy.

'మనసున మల్లెలు మాలలూగెనే' పాటను భానుమతి పాడగా తెరపై భానుమతి, రామారావు అభినయించారు. అనువణువునా దేవులపల్లి వారి ఆత్మను అక్షరరూపంలో చూపించే ఈ పాటకు ఆధార రాగం యమన్ కళ్యాణి. పల్లవి ఎక్కడా రిపీట్ కాకపోవటం ఈ పాట ప్రత్యేకత. ఇంకోరకంగా చెప్పాలంటే అసలు దీన్ని పాట అనలేం. పల్లవి లేదు, చరణాల విభజన లేదు. రాగపరంగా సాగిన ఈ పాటపై ఎంతో మందికి ఎన్నోరకాల అభిప్రాయాలు ఉండవచ్చుగాక - గానీ ఈ పాట విషయానికొస్తే మాత్రం ఒకే అభిప్రాయానికి రాక తప్పదు. పడుకునే ముందు ఈ పాట పెట్టుకుంటే ఎప్పుడు నిద్రలోకి జారుకుంటామో తెలియనంతటి సుతిమెత్తటి అనుభూతిని, హాయిని అందించే పాట ఇది.
